Pakistan Achieves Major Leap in UN e-Governance Rankings
Pakistan has achieved a notable advancement in the latest United Nations e-Governance ranking, moving up 14 spots to secure the 136th position in the E-Government Development Index (EGDI). This marks a significant improvement from its previous ranking of 150 in 2022, highlighting the country’s enhanced e-governance capabilities.
This year, for the first time, Pakistan has entered the top tier of the EGDI rankings. In addition to this overall progress, the country has also made strides in the E-Participation Index, now holding the 88th position. Just two years ago, Pakistan was ranked 106th in this category, with its e-participation value rising from 0.36 to 0.49.
Minister of State Shaza Fatima recognized the considerable efforts made by the Prime Minister to bolster e-government infrastructure. She emphasized the crucial roles played by the Ministry of IT and the National IT Board in facilitating these advancements.
