Pakistan’s star batter Babar Azam reached a major career milestone by playing his 100th home international match at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, during the first T20 International of the three-match series against Australia. The former captain described the achievement as a special honour, saying it was a proud moment to reach the landmark on his home ground.
Speaking about his journey, Babar Azam expressed deep appreciation for the constant support he has received from fans across Pakistan. He said the encouragement from supporters in every city and stadium motivates him to perform better and pushes him to give his best for the country. Reflecting on his career, he added that his Test innings in cities such as Karachi and Lahore are especially close to his heart, with each venue holding its own unique memories.
Babar also recalled his early association with Gaddafi Stadium, saying that he once served as a ball picker during a Pakistan versus South Africa match in two thousand six or two thousand seven. He said playing for Pakistan and completing his 100th home international at the same stadium now feels like a dream come true. He further thanked fans for their love and support at grounds and on social media, calling them his greatest strength and saying his goal is always to bring smiles to their faces through his performances.
