Terrorist attacks have surged in Pakistan, particularly in the border provinces of KP and Balochistan, following the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan in 2021. Islamabad has repeatedly demanded that Afghan territory not be used for attacks against Pakistan. During a recent meeting of scholars at Kabul University, Afghan experts stressed that the country’s soil must not be used to harm neighboring nations. While Pakistan welcomed this statement, it reiterated the need for written assurances from Kabul to prevent future cross-border terrorist attacks, as confirmed by Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi.
