KURAM AGENCY, – Pakistani security forces launched a “full-scale and severe” retaliatory strike against Afghan Taliban positions on Thursday, following what officials described as “unprovoked firing” from across the border, according to security sources.
The exchange occurred in the Kurram Agency district, where militants from the Afghan Taliban and the Kharijite insurgency, referred to as “Fitna al-Khawarij,” initiated fire without cause.
In a robust response, the Pakistan Army returned fire with significant intensity. The counter-attack reportedly caused “severe damage” to Afghan Taliban military installations. Security sources stated that the Pakistani firing was so effective that it set Taliban posts ablaze and even destroyed a Taliban tank.
