The fire erupted in the Syedpur village range of the Margalla Hills, prompting a swift response from authorities. Over 75 firefighters from the Capital Development Authority (CDA) are battling the flames, and additional teams are on their way.
Recognizing the urgency of the situation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has issued a directive to extinguish the fire as soon as possible. He emphasized the importance of safeguarding both human life and wildlife in the affected area.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Climate Change, Romina Khurshid Alam, expressed her gratitude to the Pakistan Army for deploying helicopters to aid in the firefighting efforts. The combined aerial and ground assault aims to bring the blaze under control swiftly.

Pakistan army on Friday joined efforts to extinguish the fire which erupted at Margalla hills in the capital Islamabad.
The fire blaze engulfed Kalanger village at Margalla hills on Thursday night.
The government took army’s help after local fire fighters failed to put out the blaze.
“Pakistan army troops reached to Kalanger village with all necessary equipment to control the fire,” said Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistan army’s media wing.
Four army helicopters and Pakistan Air Force (PAF) are currently engaged in extinguishing the fire, the statement further added.
Details about the damage are not yet available.
