PAF Cadets Assume Guard Duties at Mazar-e-Quaid on Defence Day

The day began with recitation of the Holy Quran and special prayers for the martyrs of Pakistan’s armed forces.

 

Karachi: A solemn and dignified Change of Guards ceremony was held at Mazar-e-Quaid today to mark Defence Day of Pakistan, paying rich tribute to the Father of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and the valiant martyrs who laid down their lives in defence of the motherland.

A smartly turned-out contingent of 73 cadets, including 7 female cadets, from the Pakistan Air Force Academy Asghar Khan assumed guard duties at the mausoleum. The ceremonial handover was a striking display of discipline, precision, and respect, reflecting the PAF’s continued commitment to uphold national values and the legacy of Quaid-e-Azam.

The ceremony not only honored their ultimate sacrifice but also reaffirmed the pledge to keep Pakistan Air Force battle-ready and invincible, capable of meeting all future challenges with resolve and professionalism.

Air Vice Marshal Shahryar Khan, Air Officer Commanding, PAF Academy Asghar Khan, attended the event as Chief Guest. In his address, he emphasized that under the visionary leadership of Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, the Pakistan Air Force has transformed into a “Next Generation Air Force.” He lauded the force’s innovation, operational excellence, and unwavering dedication to national defence, citing the successful execution of Operation Bunyanum Marsoos as a testament to PAF’s capability and preparedness.

Following the ceremony, the Chief Guest laid a floral wreath, offered Fateha, and recorded his sentiments in the guest book, expressing deep admiration for the enduring leadership of Quaid-e-Azam and the sacrifices made by the nation’s defenders.

The Change of Guards ceremony, held annually on 6th September, stands as a powerful symbol of national unity, military excellence, and continuity of vision.
