Syed Qamar Raza Chairs 176th OPF Board Meeting, Reviews Progress on Key Initiatives

Islamabad-(Mudassar Iqbal)-Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) Chairman Syed Qamar Raza presided over the 176th meeting of the Board of Governors in Islamabad. The meeting discussed and reviewed progress on various initiatives launched for the facilitation and welfare of overseas Pakistanis.

Chairman Raza highlighted the successful grand reception held on September 6, 2024, at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel in London, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar and attended by over 500 overseas Pakistanis from the UK and Europe. He emphasized the significant impact of the event on the Pakistani community, which will yield better results for the country.

The Board resolved to form an Overseas Pakistanis Advisory Council comprising 200 members, nominated based on their contributions to the country and community, to represent Pakistani diaspora worldwide. Additionally, an Overseas Pakistanis Youth Council will be established to connect young overseas Pakistanis with their country of origin. In the first phase, 10-15 students from Europe, the Americas, and other countries will be invited to visit Pakistan, focusing on mass communication, journalism, and social media expertise.

Chairman Raza stressed the need for dedicated efforts to make OPF a model organization, elevating it to the highest level. He expressed gratitude to the Board Members for their hard work and contributions, particularly Shaheen Khalid Butt, Afzal Bhatti, Onaza Ehsan Butt, and Muhammad Kamran. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to and from the Chair.
