Over 1,000 people flee Myanmar for Thailand after scam center raid.

After a raid on a major scam center in Myanmar, over a thousand people flee across the border into Thailand for safety.

Myanmar  – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – Thai officials reported that more than 1,000 people have crossed from Myanmar into Thailand this week. This happened after the Myanmar military raided a massive scam center known as KK Park. These scam hubs, where people are tricked through online fraud, have grown in Myanmar’s border areas.

Some people are forced to work at these scam centers after being trafficked. However, experts say others go there willingly to earn money from the illegal industry. The group that crossed into Thailand included people from China, India, Pakistan, Vietnam, and many other countries. Most of the arrivals were identified as Chinese men.

The raid on KK Park led to the seizure of Starlink satellite internet devices. The company that operates Starlink stated it has since disabled thousands of these devices used by the scam centers. Thai authorities believe most of the people who entered were from the raided compound.

Everyone who crossed the border will be screened to see if they are victims of human trafficking. If they are not found to be victims, they could face charges for entering the country illegally. Video footage showed people floating across a river on foam boxes to reach Thailand. One local resident described hearing loud noises and seeing people with guns.
