Islamabad-Mudassar Iqbal)_Syed Qamar Raza, Chairman of the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF), has reaffirmed his commitment to supporting overseas Pakistanis and their families. At a ceremony where he handed over a Rs. 15 million check to the father of late Farid, who died while working in Doha, Qatar, Raza emphasized the OPF’s dedication to providing relief and facilitating those affected [7).
The OPF’s Recovery Wing made tremendous efforts to recover the claim from Farid’s employer. This accomplishment is part of the OPF’s broader efforts, which have resulted in:
– Recovery of Death Claims: Rs. 7.41 billion recovered and disbursed to 9,477 families of deceased overseas Pakistanis ¹.
– 2023-24 Recovery: Rs. 809.32 million recovered and paid to families of deceased overseas Pakistanis ¹.
– 2024 Recovery (up to September): Rs. 157.32 million recovered and disbursed to 56 families ¹.
Raza acknowledged that financial compensation cannot replace lost lives but aims to alleviate the financial struggles of bereaved families. He also extended warm wishes for the safety of all overseas Pakistanis worldwide and assured continued welfare efforts by the OPF.
