Pakistan announces playing-XI for first ODI against Australia

Islamabad-(Sports Reporter)-Pakistan’s cricket team captain Mohammad Rizwan said, “l will proceed with consultation; only the best players will be part of the team,” stressing the importance of moving forward without dwelling on past events.

During a press conference at the MCG on Sunday, Rizwan highlighted his approach to team management and emphasised collaboration and merit-based selection.

Rizwan expressed his appreciation for the selection committee’s involvement in decisions and welcomed their input in selecting the playing XI. “I am someone who values consultation and regularly seeks advice from younger players,” he said.

Speaking about his teammates, Rizwan acknowledged the significant contributions of Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, and Naseem Shah to Pakistan cricket.

“Today, Babar and Shaheen’s names stand out because of their performances. Players go through tough times and are facing such a phase too,” he noted, adding his full support for them.

Rizwan also praised Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq for their game-changing abilities, especially noting how Fakhar’s runs have made a difference in past matches.

Rizwan encouraged the new players to make the most of their opportunities and stated that Pakistan cricket must focus on its resources rather than imitating others.

He expressed gratitude for the fans’ support and acknowledged their recent disappointment. “There’s no doubt that fans are somewhat disappointed and a bit upset with us, but we will not let them down now,” he pledged.
