One terrorist killed, 2 injured in Panjgur operation

Islamabad: A notorious terrorist was killed, and his two associates injured, as security forces conducted a successful operation in the Panjgur district of Balochistan based on intelligence.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that in an exchange of fire, a notorious terrorist named Chakar Liaquat was killed, and two of his associates sustained injuries.

During the operation, weapons and ammunition were seized from the possession of the slain terrorist. Liaquat was wanted for his involvement in various acts of terrorism.

Following the operation, a sanitization process was initiated to root out any remaining terrorists in the area.

The military spokesperson emphasized the determination of security forces to eradicate the scourge of terrorism from the country, reaffirming their commitment to maintaining peace and security in Balochistan and across Pakistan.

Later in the day, army chief General Syed Asim Munir held a meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif where the two discussed a range of issues, including national security, military operations, and foreign relations.

Discussions also centred on the outcomes of ongoing intelligence-based operations against terrorism. The meeting delved into the professional and operational matters of the Pakistan Army. Both leaders also exchanged views on the overall national and internal security situation of the country.
