Omar Ayub Criticizes PECA Restrictions, Calls for Transparent Elections

HARIPUR – Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Omar Ayub has announced plans to intensify his campaign for the rule of law, underlining the need for greater accountability in the country.

Speaking to the media in Haripur, Ayub revealed that a joint plan is being developed under the banner of “Tehreek Tahaffaz Aeen Pakistan” in collaboration with multiple political parties. He condemned the alleged false FIRs against political figures, including Akhtar Mengal and Siraj Tareen, pointing to the growing public frustration over such actions.

Ayub also discussed the issue of missing persons during a meeting with the Chief Justice, highlighting it as an area of significant concern.

The PTI leader further criticized the government for economic mismanagement, citing factors such as increasing corruption, a declining rupee, and a lack of investment. He stated that in the past two years, two million Pakistanis have migrated, resulting in a $27 billion outflow.

He also expressed his disappointment with the restrictions imposed under the PECA (Pakistan Electronic Crimes Act) and reiterated that transparent elections are the only way forward to resolve the country’s ongoing crises.
