Omar Ayub & Shibli Faraz Challenge ECP Disqualification in PHC

The Commission has not yet publicly responded to the court petition.

PESHAWAR – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Omar Ayub and Senator Shibli Faraz have filed a petition in the Peshawar High Court challenging the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) recent decision to de-notify them as members of parliament.

In their petition, the two senior leaders argued that the ECP’s move to disqualify them was “illegal, unconstitutional, and based on malafide intent.” They urged the court to declare the ECP’s decision null and void.

The petition further stated that the ECP issued its ruling without granting them a fair hearing, which they claim violates fundamental principles of justice.

The legal challenge comes a day after the ECP disqualified nine PTI lawmakers, including Ayub and Faraz. The Commission has not yet publicly responded to the court petition.
