Islamabad-(Mudassar Iqbal)- Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), the country’s leading oil and gas exploration and production company, has announced a substantial increase in oil production from its Kunnar Oil Field, located in the Hyderabad district of Sindh. Kunnar-12 Well: A Success Story of Production Optimization
At the Kunnar-12 well, OGDCL’s team of experts conducted a reassessment of the well’s potential through production optimization. Based on the findings, the company deployed a rig to replace the conventional Jet Pump with an Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP). This strategic move has increased production at the well from 1,060 BPD to 1,820 BPD, an impressive increase of 760 BPD.
The Kunnar-12 well is part of OGDCL’s Kunnar Oil Field, where the company holds a 100% working interest in the Kunnar Mining Lease Area. This well has been a significant contributor to the company’s oil production, and the recent optimization efforts have further enhanced its performance.
Revival of Kunnar-6 Well: A Demonstration of OGDCL’s Technical Expertise
The Kunnar-6 well, previously shut-in due to high water production and low oil recovery, has been successfully revived following a comprehensive plan. OGDCL’s team of experts implemented a series of rigless interventions in the Lower Goru Upper Sand, combined with re-completion using an artificial lift system (ESP). These measures have optimized the well’s performance, and it is now producing at a rate of 400 BPD of oil.
