ODI series between Pakistan Shaheens & Sri Lanka A postponed amid ongoing protests

Fans eagerly await updates on the rescheduled dates for the remaining ODIs.

KARACHI: The remaining white-ball series between Pakistan Shaheens and Sri Lanka A has been postponed due to the ongoing protests by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, which have caused disruptions across the country.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) mutually agreed to end the series, which had two remaining One Day International (ODI) matches scheduled in Rawalpindi. The series was halted in light of the security concerns posed by the unrest in the country.

A PCB spokesperson confirmed the decision, emphasizing that the board’s priority remains the safety and security of players, officials, and fans. Both cricket boards will collaborate to determine a new schedule for the remaining matches at a later time, taking into account the evolving security situation in Pakistan.

The postponement follows increasing concerns over public unrest and the challenging logistics of holding international matches amidst ongoing protests. The PCB has vowed to continue monitoring the situation and will announce further details once conditions improve.
