Not easy to sit with Imran due to his behaviour, says Murad

SC’s decision on Punjab elections equivalent to establishing ‘One Unit’,Saeed Ghani

JACOBABAD/Karachi – Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said on Thursday that it was not easy to sit with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan due to the latter’s behaviour.

Speaking to media, Mr Shah said, “It is up to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to hold the elections. After the Supreme Court’s (SC) verdict, the complexities in connection with the holding of the elections increased. If the problems will be solved after the decision, then everybody will be ready to accept the decision”.

He recalled that the elections will be held within 90 days as per the constitution. Soon, elections will also have to be held on the vacant seats. All our political parties have their own ideologies. We definitely united to rule. The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has always believed in dialogue.”

Mr Shah made it clear that former president Asif Ali Zardari and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari had always been prepared to negotiate, adding that the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had their own opinions.

Meanwhile,

(PPP) leader Saeed Ghani criticized the Supreme Court’s decision to hold elections in Punjab before other provinces and said it would be equivalent to establishing a new “one unit” in the country.

In a statement on Thursday, Mr Ghani said that while the Supreme Court has the authority to make decisions under the Constitution, it does not have the authority to set up panchayats.

He added that the PPP does not accept the SC’s insistence on holding elections in Punjab before other provinces.

Mr Ghani emphasized the importance of Punjab’s seats in the National Assembly and stated that any party that forms the government in Punjab would have an impact on the entire country.

He also questioned the stubbornness of the Supreme Court and advocated for holding elections on a single day throughout the country.

“Balochistan and Sindh want elections to be held on one day, then why is the SC being stubborn?” Mr Ghani said, urging for elections to be held simultaneously across the country.
