Oslo: The aggressive ambitions of India have united Pakistanis and Kashmiris residing in Norway, with overseas Pakistanis pledging their unwavering support for Pakistan’s armed forces. In the event of an imposed war by India, political differences will be set aside as overseas Pakistanis stand shoulder to shoulder with the military to defend every inch of their homeland.
A dinner organized by the Pakistan Union Norway (PUN) in honor of the President of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), senior journalist Muhammad Afzal Butt, turned into an all-parties conference, reflecting a strong sense of solidarity.
According to details, a grand event was held in Oslo, the capital of Norway, in honor of Muhammad Afzal Butt, President of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists, and was organized by the Pakistan Union Norway. The event was presided over by the Chairman of Pakistan Union Norway, Chaudhry Qamar Iqbal. The special guests included Asif Hamid, Welfare Attaché at the Pakistani Embassy, and Imran Rashid Yawar, a poet and journalist from Pakistan (representative of Dunya News).
The event commenced with a speech by Chaudhry Qamar Iqbal, who expressed gratitude towards Muhammad Afzal Butt for his invaluable contributions to journalism and raising awareness about the issues faced by overseas Pakistanis. In recognition of his journalistic services, Pakistan Union Norway awarded a special honor to Afzal Butt. Additionally, a unanimous resolution was presented to address the challenges faced by overseas Pakistanis.
While discussing the current situation in Pakistan, Chaudhry Qamar Iqbal condemned India’s baseless and fabricated propaganda regarding the Pahalgam incident. He emphasized that Norwegian Pakistanis and all overseas Pakistanis stand with Pakistan’s armed forces and will continue to support a strong and prosperous Pakistan. He also reassured that the hearts of overseas Pakistanis beat for their beloved homeland, and they will continue to play a role in the nation’s development.
Muhammad Afzal Butt, President of PFUJ, addressed the attendees and stated that overseas Pakistanis are the true ambassadors of Pakistan around the world. He acknowledged the efforts of Pakistan Union Norway in addressing the concerns of the overseas Pakistani community. He also highlighted the malicious attempts by the Indian media to tarnish Pakistan’s image globally. Afzal Butt further added that if India were to impose a war on Pakistan, overseas Pakistanis, along with the entire nation, would set aside political differences and stand united in defending Pakistan’s sovereignty.
Afzal Butt also stressed the importance of working collectively to better highlight Pakistan and its identity on the global stage. He commended the Pakistan Union Norway for their role in tackling the challenges faced by the Pakistani community in Norway.
Asif Hamid, Cultural Attaché at the Pakistan Embassy, also spoke about Pakistan’s ongoing battle with terrorism and reiterated the country’s demand for fair investigations into the Pahalgam incident. He praised the efforts of the Pakistani community in Norway and lauded the Pakistan Union Norway for their support in addressing these issues.
Imran Rashid Yawar, a poet and journalist from Pakistan (representative of Dunya News), spoke about the leadership of Muhammad Afzal Butt, acknowledging his pivotal role in representing Pakistani journalists and civil society across the globe. He also appreciated Pakistan Union Norway’s invitation to speak on behalf of the overseas community.
Dr. Talat Jamil, former President of Pakistan Union Norway, briefed the attendees about the longstanding community service efforts of the Pakistan Union Norway and expressed gratitude for the presence of Muhammad Afzal Butt at the event.
The event was attended by a wide range of prominent figures, including M. Parvez Mehr, Information Secretary of Pakistan Union Norway, Chaudhry Mohammad Akram, Senior Leader of Pakistan Union Norway, Chaudhry Mohammad Asghar, Senior Leader, and Shahid Jamil, Head of the Tanzeem Sukoon organization. Other notable attendees included various social, political, and media personalities from the Pakistani community in Norway.
