Non-Bailable Warrant Issued for KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi
Authorities have been instructed to ensure the arrest
ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – The District and Sessions Court of Islamabad has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Sohail Afridi over allegations of making misleading statements against state institutions. The court ordered that the Chief Minister be arrested and presented in court at the next hearing.
During Saturday’s proceedings, Sohail Afridi failed to appear, prompting the court to express dissatisfaction over his repeated absence and non-compliance with previous orders.
The case was filed after the Chief Minister allegedly made statements that could harm the reputation of state institutions. The prosecution claims these allegations were deliberate and constitute a legal offense.
Authorities have been instructed to ensure the arrest of the accused and his production before the court, reinforcing the judiciary’s stance against actions deemed damaging to institutional credibility.
