PTV Win Thriller as President’s Trophy Round Concludes
KARACHI: The fourth round of the President’s Trophy Grade-I 2025-26 concluded on Saturday with emphatic victories for Ghani Glass, Sahir Associates and Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) across three venues in Karachi, while Pakistan Television (PTV) sealed a dramatic two-run win in a fourth fixture.
Ghani Glass captain and Pakistan Test spinner Noman Ali delivered a match-winning performance against Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA), claiming career-best figures of 12 for 104 to guide his side to a 106-run victory at the UBL Sports Complex. Noman followed his first-innings spell of 7 for 59 with 5 for 45 in the second, surpassing his previous best match figures. His effort included his 36th first-class five-wicket haul. Fast bowler Khurram Shahzad supported him with four for 40.
Chasing a target of 243, WAPDA resumed day four on 108 for five but were bundled out for 136 in 45.3 overs. Despite the defeat, WAPDA remained top of the points table with 81 points after three consecutive wins earlier in the tournament. PTV sit second with 71 points.
At the KCCA Stadium, Sahir Associates registered their first win of the season, defeating Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) by 64 runs. Defending a modest target of 156, pacers Khan Zaib and Razaullah dismantled OGDCL’s batting lineup, sharing all 10 wickets between them. Khan Zaib finished with 5 for 34 and Razaullah claimed 5 for 37 as OGDCL were dismissed for 91. Khan Zaib was named Player of the Match.

Meanwhile, at the SBP Sports Complex, KRL cruised to a 10-wicket win over State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). Chasing a target of just 41 runs, openers Shahzaib Khan and Saad Baig completed the task in 8.4 overs without loss. Earlier, SBP were bowled out for 302 in their second innings, despite half-centuries from Qasim Akram, Shahid Aziz and Mohammad Huraira. Ahmed Bashir starred for KRL with a five-wicket haul and earned Player of the Match honors. KRL now occupy third place on the table with 68 points, two ahead of SNGPL.
In a thrilling finish at the National Bank Stadium, Pakistan Television edged past Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited by just two runs to secure a memorable victory. Ali Usman was named Player of the Match for his decisive contribution.
The fifth round of the President’s Trophy Grade-I will begin on Wednesday, January 21, at the same four venues in Karachi. All matches will be live-streamed on Tapmad in Pakistan and on the PCB YouTube channel for international viewers.
