No tickets issued to PTI candidates, PTI-Nazriati chief

PTI Plan-B’, candidates will be awarded tickets with batsman symbol,
Tehreek-e-Insaf Nazriati backtracked from its commitment,” says Zafar
Lahore(Tahir Chuhdary)_PTI-Nazriati Chairman Akhtar Iqbal Dar has stated that his party has not issued any tickets to election candidates from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), adding that they submitted fake tickets.
During a press conference at the Lahore Press Club, Dar said that rumours were circulating from 12 o’clock that PTI-Nazriati had issued tickets to PTI candidates.
Earlier in the day, there were reports that as part of Plan B, the PTI has instructed its candidates to submit tickets with the symbol of the “batsman” which is the electoral symbol of its splinter group, the PTI-Nazriati.
Dar clarified that these were fake tickets and questioned where PTI candidates got the PTI-N tickets.
Dar underscored that he had personally issued tickets to his party’s candidates, adding that the lists of PTI-N members would be released shortly. He also read out the names of PTI-Nazriati members.
Dar also highlighted, “PTI-N ticket clearly shows the symbol of the batsman; it is beyond my comprehension where the PTI got the tickets drafted.”
Dar said that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had ordered that no one could use the symbol of any other party. He added that the PTI-N had its own manifesto, its own constitution and had designated death as the punishment for corruption.
Dar said that his party had fielded its own candidates from several cities, noting that 50 candidates from his party were contesting the February 8 elections. Dar clarified that he had no contact with anyone from the PTI, adding that his party would provide the list of PTI-Nazriati candidates to presiding officers.
Earlier,
According to Plan B, the PTI candidates would submit a PTI-N ticket to the returning officer if they are barred from contesting elections on the party’s name and the bat symbol. It merits here to mention that the name of the faction led by Dar and its symbol is akin to the party led by Barrister Gohar Khan.
The PTI-N was registered with the country’s top electoral authority in 2016 after accepting an application from Dar. At that time, the Khan-led party had filed an application in the Lahore High Court against the decision which was rejected.
The PTI-N fielded 35 candidates in the 2018 elections. Although, they did not win any seats they secured over 21,000 votes from Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The party has a base in Punjab.
While,
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) said Saturday that its splinter group — Tehreek-e-Insaf Nazriati — had backtracked from an agreement between the two sides, allowing the candidates of the former to contest polls under the latter’s symbol.
The PTI, with uncertainty surrounding its symbol and a case pending before the Supreme Court, asked its candidates to submit their nomination papers under the name of another party — PTI-N.
In conversation with PVT TV channel , PTI leader Barrister Ali Zafar confirmed that his party had entered an agreement with the PTI-N, noting that they struck the deal in Islamabad, with sources saying it took place on December 30.
“It is unfortunate that the Tehreek-e-Insaf Nazriati backtracked from its commitment. Now, we are pinning our hopes on the Supreme Court,” Zafar said.
