No Extension in Winter Holidays, Punjab Schools to Reopen on January 12: Education Minister
Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has clarified that there will be no extension in the winter holidays for educational institutions across the province, dismissing reports circulating on social media as completely false.
The minister said that all schools and colleges will reopen according to the previously announced schedule, with academic activities resuming on January 12. He stressed that the Punjab Education Department has not issued any notification regarding an extension of holidays.

Rana Sikandar Hayat further explained that a notification being widely shared on social media, claiming an extension in winter vacations, is fake and has no official backing. He urged parents, students, and teachers not to believe in misleading information and to rely only on official sources.
The clarification was shared through the minister’s official social media accounts after confusion spread due to the viral fake notification. He reaffirmed that winter holidays will end as planned and normal academic routines will resume on time.
