Peace in Gilgit-Baltistan Is Our Collective Responsibility, Says CM after Attack on Qazi Nisar Ahmed

GILGIT — Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Haji Gulbar Khan has emphasized that no delay or compromise will be tolerated in the completion of the Darail-Tangir Expressway, a project of great significance for tourism and economic activity in the region.

Presiding over a high-level meeting on the project, the Chief Minister expressed dissatisfaction over the consultant’s performance and instructed the authorities to ensure quality and timely completion.

He directed that Phase-II of the project be finalized and presented to the relevant forum by October 31.

Provincial Secretary for Communications & Works and the Project Director briefed the Chief Minister in detail on the project’s progress.

In a separate meeting with the Parliamentary Peace Committee and religious scholars, the Chief Minister said that peace in Gilgit-Baltistan is essential for everyone.

He appreciated the role of scholars and civil society in maintaining harmony following the terrorist attack on Qazi Nisar Ahmed, calling it “commendable and exemplary.”

The Chief Minister said that Qazi Nisar’s message of patience and peace after the attack thwarted the terrorists’ designs.
He vowed that all culprits will be brought to justice, and that legal action is being taken against those spreading hatred on social media without discrimination.
