New Zealand win T20I series over West Indies

ISLAMABAD: New Zealand sealed a 3–1 victory in the five-match T20 International series against the West Indies after defeating the visitors by eight wickets in the final encounter at the University Oval, Dunedin, on Thursday.

Opting to field first, the Black Caps dismissed the West Indies for 140 in 18.4 overs. Fast bowler Jacob Duffy led the attack with four wickets for 35 runs, while James Neesham took two for 31.

In reply, New Zealand reached the target of 141 with 26 balls to spare. Tim Robinson struck 45 from 24 balls, and Devon Conway remained unbeaten on 47 from 42. Rachin Ravindra contributed 21 before Mark Chapman completed the chase with an unbeaten 21.

Shepherd and Shamar Springer claimed one wicket each for the West Indies.

Duffy was named both Player of the Match and Player of the Series for his consistent performances throughout the campaign.
