New Zealand beat Pakistan by nine wickets
HRISTCHURCH (Webdesk) – New Zealand have defeated Pakistan on Monday comfortably by nine wickets at Hagley Oval, Christchurch.
New Zealand have made light work of this chase and registered their second win of the series. The opening partnership between Finn Allen and Devon Conway snuffed the fight out of Pakistan. Allen made his second T20I fifty that included some massive hits over the fence. Conway was quieter but no less effective as he finished with an unbeaten 49.
For Pakistan, only Shadab Khan was able to grab a wicket of Allen.
Mitchell Santner, Michael Bracewell and Ish Sodhi shared five wickets between them. Tim Southee gave away nothing in the death and picked up a couple of wickets as well.
Pakistan batting side flopped and was only able to post 130 runs which was easily chased by the Kiwis in 16.1 overs.
Iftikhar Ahmed was the highest scorer for Pakistan, scoring 27 off 27 balls while Asif Ali scored 25 off 20 balls. Captain Babar Azam scored 21 off 23 while wicket-keeper batter Mohammad Rizwan was only able to score 16 runs.
Pakistan will play their next match against Bangladesh on Thursday, October 13.
