JI’s Liaqat Baloch calls on Chaudhry Shujaat to discuss political situation,

LAHORE_In a major development in the national political scene, estranged PTI leader Jahangir Tareen met with senior politician Abdul Aleem Khan at the latter’s residence in Lahore.

Senior politician Ishaq Khakwani, the prime minister’s special assistant Aon Chaudhry, Shoaib Siddiqui, Saeed Akbar Niwani also attended the meeting.

As Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) exodus continues, former senior leaders of the party, Jahangir Khan Tareen and Abdul Aleem Khan discussed the political situation of the country on Monday.

Mr Tareen met Mr Khan at his residence, during which the two leaders had a detailed discussion on their roles in the current political situation.

Senior politician Ishaq Khakwani, Awn Chaudhry, Shoaib Siddiqui, and Saeed Akbar Nawani were present at the meeting.

On Sunday, former member of National Assembly from Pakpattan Mohammad Shah Khagga met Mr Tareen. Mr Nawani and Awn were also present in the meeting.

Insiders said that they discussed current political situation of the country and future course of action.

Meanwhile, Tareen has also been reaching out to politicians from Karachi, inner Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan for the purpose.

Fawad Chaudhry, Shaukat Tarin

According to insiders, Fawad Chaudhry and Shaukat Tarin have also contacted Mr Tareen.

They said that the two leaders, who recently quit the PTI, also discussed the future strategy with Tareen.

He reportedly consulted them on the name of his new party.

However, Fawad denied the reports, saying that he had already announced that he was taking a ‘break’ from politics.

He said that he has no plans to remain in politics.

The insiders revealed that many political families from Muzzafargarh, Dera Ghazi Khan, Lodhran, Multan, and Rajanpur were expected to join Tareen’s new party.

In an effort to address the current political situation in the country, Jamaat-e-Islami’s vice chief, Liaqat Baloch, held a meeting with Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) president, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, on Monday. The meeting, which took place at Chaudhry Shujaat’s residence, also saw the presence of Farid Paracha.

During the meeting, Liaqat Baloch expressed his concerns about the welfare of former Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujaat and engaged in discussions about the prevailing political landscape.

Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, acknowledging the severity of the events that unfolded on May 9, emphasized that condemnation alone is insufficient. He called for unity among all politicians, emphasizing the need for collective action in order to address the challenges faced by the country.

Liaqat Baloch, highlighting the dire circumstances of inflation and unemployment, stressed that the situation has made it increasingly difficult for the people to sustain their livelihoods.

He expressed his belief that dialogue is the key to resolving these issues, stating that all problems can be effectively tackled through open discussions.

Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of holding elections on time, stating that political stability can only be achieved if the electoral process is conducted as scheduled.
