New Formula for Cricket Tournaments Will Apply to Future Events, says Naqvi

DUBAI: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi on Saturday stated that any new formula devised for the upcoming Champions Trophy will also be applicable to future cricket tournaments.

Speaking to the media during his visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Naqvi emphasized that any decision regarding the formula would be based on equality between Pakistan and India. “If a new formula is proposed, it will not only be implemented for the Champions Trophy but will also apply to future events,” he said.

Naqvi reiterated that the PCB’s primary focus is to elevate the status of Pakistan cricket. “Pakistan comes first. We cannot accept one-sided affairs, and we must resolve the current stalemate for good,” he added.

The PCB chairman also clarified that discussions would no longer be limited to the Champions Trophy, but rather focus on long-term solutions for the future of cricket relations between the two countries.

Naqvi Assures State Guest Protocol for All Countries in Champions Trophy

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi assured on Saturday that all participating teams in the upcoming Champions Trophy will receive state guest protocol and top-level security.

In a meeting with Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) head Mubashir Usmani, Naqvi discussed the arrangements for the tournament, which was originally scheduled to be held in Pakistan next February. Naqvi confirmed that all logistical and security measures have been finalized.

The PCB chairman emphasized that cricket and politics must remain separate and reiterated Pakistan’s full readiness to host the prestigious event. He also noted progress on stadium upgrades as part of the preparations.
