New Airport App Aims to Cut Down Your Immigration Wait
This new AI technology aims to protect travellers and speed up airport procedures significantly.
Islamabad – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has launched a new smartphone app powered by artificial intelligence. This innovative tool is designed to tackle two major issues: simplifying the immigration process for travellers and cracking down on human smuggling networks.
FIA Director General Raja Riffat Mukhtar presented the new application to Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi during a meeting at the FIA headquarters. The app will begin its initial trial phase at the Islamabad International Airport.
Interior Minister Naqvi praised the initiative, stating it will not only help prevent illegal human trafficking but also save airline passengers from enduring long immigration queues. He issued immediate orders for the release of funds to upgrade the FIA’s IT infrastructure. The minister also directed the urgent renovation of the FIA’s main headquarters building.

Addressing logistical needs, Naqvi instructed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to quickly hand over a newly allotted piece of land for the FIA Academy. He also highlighted a staff shortage and commanded that recruitment for all pre-approved vacant positions begin without delay.
Concluding the meeting, the Interior Minister assured FIA officials of his full support, saying, “I will ensure the provision of all necessary resources, but you will also have to show performance.”
