Need to stop political terrorists for development, Bilawal Bhutto

Sawat (Haroon Siraj)_Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Saturday said that if the responsible for May 9 attacks are forgiven, there will be no rule of law or democracy in the country,

Addressing a rally organized in connection with PPP’s election campaign at Sawat, he stressed the need to bring to justice the rioters of the May 9 attacks, saying that the political terrorism will escalate if the perpetrators are forgiven.

“We will also have to stop political terrorists and if political terrorism was not stopped, incidents like May 9 might happen again.”

He asserted all of the perpetrators of the May 9 riots will be brought to justice.

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto while referring to the May 9 riots, he said that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto were killed; however, PPP never resorted to violence and believed that democracy is the best revenge.

If they had raised the slogan of revenge at the time of Benazir’s martyrdom, the country would have burned, he recalled, adding that We have never been attacked like we were wronged.

PPP always shouted the slogan “Democracy is the best revenge”.

He said that PPP has always taken care of the poor people as it has been fighting against poverty and inflation.

“The day is not far when poverty and unemployment will be eradicated from the country,” he added.

The minister said the solution to all the problems of the country is in the manifesto of the leader of the people.

The time has come to let the youth leadership solve the country’s problems, he hinted, adding if the people support us, the PPP can solve every problem.

PPP is not fighting any political party, it is fighting poverty and unemployment

Bilawal said that the threat of terrorism exists in Swat once again after the PTI chief resettled the terrorists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during his stint in the government.

He said that during the PPP government in the 2010s, the terrorists were defeated in the KP after the significant sacrifices of security forces and the people of Swat. However, the PTI government settled the terrorists in KP, who had fled to Afghanistan,” he added.

The people of Swat are witnesses of the PPP’s efforts to bring peace to the country, he said, adding that all other parties remained silent when terrorists were imposed on the people of Swat.

“It was Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, who said that she will hoist Pakistan’s flag in Swat, which some people wanted to take down,” he said.

Bilawal said PTI had abandoned its loyal and visionary workers; instead, it gave tickets to abusers and non-serious candidates.

Taking a dig at PTI Chairman, the minister said that the PTI chief is the mastermind of the May tragedy.

The PPP chairman said that the PPP had sent a high-level committee to the prime minister to inform him about the party’s nominal input in the next budget.

“The federal government had pledged to match the provincial governments’ funds for the flood victims. Surprisingly, the centre has not allocated those funds for the provinces in the budget,” he added.

“If the PML-N wants the PPP’s vote for the budget, then it should allocate funds for the flood victims’ reconstruction,” he said.

He urged for elections to be held on time, saying that PPP is all set for elections. “We are calling all parties including our allies to go for elections.

All political parties should be allowed to participate in the polls. Whoever gets elected, will hopefully work for the betterment of the masses.”
