Nawazuddin Siddiqui Criticizes Rise Of Propaganda Films

Nawazuddin Siddiqui Slams Trend Of Propaganda Driven Films

MUMBAI: (Web Desk) – Acclaimed Indian actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has voiced concern over what he believes is the rising trend of propaganda-driven films in India, claiming that many recent productions rely on narratives that do not reflect the truth.

During an open conversation with a host, the actor spoke candidly about the issue, suggesting that both audiences and industry insiders are aware of the reality behind such films but often hesitate to speak about it publicly.

“Truth is very important, and in today’s time everyone knows the truth,” Siddiqui said. “The kind of films being made these days, you know what truth lies behind them. But people won’t say it out loud.”

When asked whether the film industry was increasingly creating movies aimed at shaping public opinion, the actor responded directly, indicating that the matter goes beyond creative storytelling.

According to Siddiqui, many of these productions are essentially “false films.” He suggested that viewers in India as well as international audiences understand what is happening behind the scenes, even if it is rarely discussed openly.

His remarks have triggered widespread debate online, with many people discussing the influence of cinema on public perception and political narratives.

Siddiqui is widely respected for redefining the conventional Bollywood hero through powerful and unconventional roles. His breakthrough performance in Gangs of Wasseypur and his portrayal of writer Saadat Hasan Manto in the film Manto showcased his remarkable range as an actor.

Often regarded as one of the finest performers of his generation, Siddiqui’s journey to stardom has been far from typical. Before gaining international recognition, he spent years taking on small roles and working various jobs while pursuing his dream of acting.

His rise from humble beginnings to becoming a globally recognized talent remains one of the most inspiring stories in modern Indian cinema.
