In a significant move by the government to streamline the renewal process for both new and existing passports, the Ministry of Home Affairs has submitted a proposal to the Cabinet to amend the Passport Rules.
Once these amendments are approved, citizens will be able to obtain passports from any city, easing the process for those planning to travel abroad for immigration, education, or employment.
Many Pakistani nationals are currently seeking visas for the United States, the United Kingdom, and various European countries.

Additionally, fees for all passport categories will be payable at any national bank.
The proposed rule changes will take effect following the Cabinet’s approval.
