National wrestler Saad Rajput at risk of missing world championship

“Support me now. Give a champion the chance to represent Pakistan on the world stage.”

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s top mass wrestling athlete, Muhammad Saad Rajput, is on the verge of missing the 2025 World Mass Wrestling Championship in Mongolia due to a lack of sponsorship—despite the fact that the event is now only two days away.

Although Saad possesses both a valid visa and an official invitation to the prestigious event, his participation is in jeopardy simply because no sponsor has stepped forward to support his travel and competition expenses. This sponsorship void threatens to sideline one of Pakistan’s most accomplished wrestlers from the global stage.

Speaking with deep emotion, Saad stated, “If I can secure a sponsor, I can go to Mongolia and once again raise Pakistan’s flag high.” He emphasised that he has always competed for his country with passion and dedication, often doing so without any formal backing. “This is not just about me as an athlete; this is a matter of national pride.”

Saad Rajput is no stranger to the international circuit. He has previously represented Pakistan in countries like Russia, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Romania, winning numerous gold, silver, and bronze medals.

He is a National Youth Award recipient and holds the record for the highest number of international medals won by any Pakistani mass wrestler.

Despite his impressive credentials and unwavering spirit, Saad now finds himself at a crossroads. “All travel arrangements are complete, my determination is as strong as ever, but without sponsorship, I cannot compete,” he said.

He appealed passionately to institutions, corporate entities, and sports enthusiasts: “Support me now. Give a champion the chance to represent Pakistan on the world stage.”
