Nation pays glowing tributes to Quaid-e-Azam on 77th Death Anniversary

ISLAMABAD – The people of Pakistan are solemnly observing the 77th death anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the Father of the Nation, today (Wednesday), with deep reverence and renewed pledges to uphold his guiding principles of unity, faith, and discipline.
Special prayers were held across mosques and religious institutions for the departed soul of the great leader and for the continued peace, progress, and stability of Pakistan. Various public and private institutions also held seminars, exhibitions, and discussions to highlight Quaid-e-Azam’s remarkable life, vision, and unmatched leadership in the creation of Pakistan.
Quaid’s Legacy Remembered Nationwide
Born on December 25, 1876, Jinnah led the Indian Muslims through the most crucial phase of their political struggle. Through his leadership of the All-India Muslim League, he transformed a vision into reality with the creation of an independent state for Muslims in South Asia on August 14, 1947. Sadly, he passed away just over a year later, on September 11, 1948, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire generations.
To mark the occasion, Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Television (PTV) are airing special programs and documentaries shedding light on the Quaid’s political ideology, personal life, and efforts that led to the formation of Pakistan.

National Leadership Pays Tribute
In their commemorative messages, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid glowing tributes to the founding father’s statesmanship, resolve, and unmatched services to the Muslim Ummah.
President Zardari said that Quaid-e-Azam did not merely create a homeland for Muslims but gifted them a distinct identity and global recognition. He emphasized that the current challenges facing the country can only be addressed by adhering to Jinnah’s principles of justice, equality, and constitutionalism.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted Quaid-e-Azam’s political foresight and unwavering determination, stating that Pakistan’s very existence is a testament to his extraordinary vision. He urged citizens to rise above differences and work collectively for the progress of the nation, in line with the Quaid’s ideals.
Civil Society and Youth Participation
Universities, schools, and civil society organizations across the country also organized events, including essay competitions, panel discussions, and art exhibitions. Youth in particular were encouraged to read Jinnah’s speeches and writings to understand the importance of national unity and democratic values in today’s context.
A Call to Reclaim the Vision
Analysts and historians note that at a time when Pakistan faces significant political, economic, and social challenges, Quaid-e-Azam’s roadmap offers a much-needed beacon. They stress that embracing his message of tolerance, inclusion, and rule of law is vital for national reconstruction.
