Naseem Shah Reflects on Pakistan’s Opening Match Performance
After Pakistan’s opening match, fast-bowler Naseem Shah spoke to the media, emphasizing the team’s commitment to learning from their mistakes and making necessary improvements.
Reflecting on the performance, he pointed out that the team had already discussed areas of improvement, particularly in batting, and was focused on putting up a stronger performance in their next game.
Regarding the Melbourne pitch, Shah praised Australia’s bowling attack and noted the surface’s advantage for fast bowlers. He explained that short-pitched deliveries worked better, as the length bowling wasn’t as effective. Despite this, he expressed confidence in Pakistan’s own bowling unit, which he believes is in excellent form.
Shah also addressed concerns about his fitness, stating that while cramps can occur during a match, recovery is quick, and he felt physically fine. He assured there were no fitness issues.
The young bowler reiterated that the team is focused on collective success rather than targeting any specific opponent. He emphasized that regardless of the pitch conditions, Pakistan’s aim is to play their best cricket. Despite the narrow loss in the first match, Shah believes the team has learned valuable lessons and is focused on using these insights to improve in upcoming games.
