Islamabad: Naqvi Vows to End Electricity Bill Fraud, Orders Investigation” Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has taken strict notice of the rising complaints regarding over-billing of protected electricity customers and has ordered legal action against the responsible officers and staff.
Minister Naqvi has directed all FIA directors to address the injustices faced by customers consuming 200 units or less. He emphasized that the deliberate reclassification of protected users into the non-protected category constitutes a criminal act that will not be tolerated.

Minister Naqvi stated that the wrongful inclusion of protected customers into the non-protected category has imposed an additional financial burden amounting to crores of rupees on these already struggling customers. He stressed that the issue of over-billing has exacerbated their difficulties, and it is imperative that these complaints of over-billing and injustice be resolved promptly to provide relief to the affected consumers.
