ISLAMABAD(News desk )Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has highlighted the crucial contribution of religious scholars in ensuring peace and stability during Muharram-ul-Haram.
Addressing a gathering of scholars from different sects in Islamabad on Thursday, he stated that maintaining law and order is a shared responsibility between religious leaders and security forces.
Emphasizing the importance of inter-sect unity, the minister announced that scholars from all sects will be invited to jointly perform Zohar prayers at Faisal Mosque on August 14. He added that this collective act will reflect national unity.
Minister of State for Interior, Talal Chaudhary, also spoke on the occasion, stressing the need for harmony to maintain peace during Muharram and to counter terrorist threats.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, reaffirmed their collective commitment to the country’s security.
