Actress Reveals Avoidance of Medical Career Despite Mother's Wishes
Naeema Butt, famous for her negative role in the popular drama *Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum*, has come under fire on social media after sharing her career choices in a recent interview.
The actress, who gained fame alongside Fahad Mustafa and Hania Aamir, discussed her character and career journey during an appearance on a private TV show.
Butt revealed that her mother, a doctor, had wanted her to pursue a career in medicine. However, Naeema admitted to having no interest in the field and, despite completing pre-medical studies in high school, chose not to take the medical entry test because she didn’t want to follow that path. Instead, she opted for a career in showbiz, enrolling in mass communication.
Following a viral clip from the interview, some social media users criticized her for apparently avoiding the difficult medical entry test, suggesting that she hadn’t prepared enough for it. There were also doubts about the authenticity of her story, with some questioning if her mother, who wanted her to be a doctor, would have been more insistent.
Before her well-known role in Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, Naeema appeared in several dramas such as Ehd-e-Wafa, Daasi, and Main Khwab Bunti Hoon. However, it was her recent performance that brought her significant recognition.
The finale of Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum was even screened in cinemas, depicting the positive aspects of Mustafa and Sharjeena’s life and marriage, and was well-received not only in Pakistan but also in neighboring countries.
