Nadra sets up facilitation desk at RCCI

National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) Chairman Tariq Malik on Saturday inaugurated first-ever facilitation desk for the business community at the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI).
Speaking on the occasion, the Nadra chairman said that digitisation is being done for the convenience of the business class aiming to ensure ease of doing business.
He also informed that Nadra had integrated its platform with 1Link, to administer and evolve an e-payment network in the country through Nadra’s e-Sahulat franchise network.
“The partnership will enable more than 17,000 e-Sahulat outlets to perform fund transfers, cash-in and cash-out, and public-to-government (P2G), government-to-public (G2P), and public-to-public (P2P) payments,” he said.
“A project called Nishan Pakistan is underway to identify the buyer and seller and bring more transparency in business transactions, he added. Smart mobile app is also being launched,” he further added.
He assured that his organisation would work with the Rawalpindi chamber to provide more facilities for tax payers and the business community.
RCCI President Nadeem Rauf briefed about the ongoing activities of the chamber. He said the establishment of Rawalpindi chamber Nadra facility centre is a great success for the chamber members and the public, and the Nadra passport office would also be opened soon.
The Police Service Centre is already functioning in the chamber.
RCCI group leader Sohail Altaf said that SMS service, mobile app and chip machine services provided by Nadra to eliminate ID card verification and photocopying in various departments are commendable and should be expanded and awareness should also be given.
A large number of members, representatives of trade associations, former presidents and executive members were also present on the occasion.
