NADRA upgrades Pak ID app to simplify visa biometric processes

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – National Database and Registration Authority has rolled out an upgraded version of the Pak ID Mobile App, aiming to simplify visa applications and biometric verification for users both inside and outside Pakistan.

According to an official statement, the updated app significantly improves accessibility for foreigners and overseas Pakistanis. Individuals from 193 countries can now apply for various visa categories directly through the app, making the process more convenient and user-friendly.

One of the major improvements is the automation of data entry. Instead of manually typing details such as name, passport number, and expiry date, users can simply upload or capture a passport-sized photograph. The system then automatically scans and fills in the required information, reducing errors and saving time.

The app also introduces a dedicated section for biometric verification on its home screen. This feature is designed to eliminate complications and streamline verification processes for users.

Through this upgrade, users can now carry out several important services from home, including verification of family relationships, vehicle transfers, inheritance matters, passport-related processes, arms licenses, and “proof of life” verification for pensioners.

Additionally, facial recognition and fingerprint verification systems have been enhanced to deliver faster and more efficient results.

NADRA has advised users to update the app via the Google Play Store or Apple App Store to access the latest features and improvements.
