NADRA DG Dismissed Over Fake Degree
Zulfiqar Fired After Investigation Uncovers Fraudulent Educational Credentials.

ISLAMABAD: Zulfiqar Ahmed, the Director General of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), has been dismissed from his position due to the discovery of a fake degree. Ahmed, who was serving as the Sargodha Region Director General, was found to have submitted fraudulent educational credentials, including an MBA degree that bore the signature of the President of George Mason University, USA, even though the individual was not serving at the time.
Further investigation revealed discrepancies with Ahmed’s BBA degree, as the college listed on it did not correspond to the institution’s name during the time the degree was issued. In response, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) conducted a thorough inquiry upon NADRA’s request and confirmed the falsified information.

Despite the Islamabad High Court upholding the HEC’s decision to declare the degree equivalent, Ahmed failed to provide a satisfactory explanation to NADRA’s show-cause notice. As a result, following the court’s ruling and Ahmed’s unsatisfactory response, NADRA’s chairman took disciplinary action, ultimately leading to his dismissal.
