NADRA and World Bank Collaborate on Digital Economy Enhancement
World Bank delegation reviews progress on DEEP at NADRA HQ
Islamabad-(Staff Reporter): A delegation from the World Bank, led by Ms. Vyjayanti T. Desai, Practice Manager for Digital Development in the South Asia Region, visited the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) Headquarters today to discuss Pakistan’s progress on key digital development initiatives, particularly in the areas of identity and economy.
Chairman NADRA provided the delegation with a comprehensive update about DEEP (Digital Economy Enhancement Project), a project being implemented with financial assistance from the World Bank which aims to strengthen the economy through digitization. Under DEEP, NADRA is responsible for defining information mechanisms, implementing digital identity, and promoting its adoption. These initiatives, which form an integral part of Pakistan’s Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), aim to support sustainable development and enhance citizens’ access to essential services.
The World Bank delegation included senior representatives from both the U.S. and Pakistan offices.
