NA Member Proposes ‘Pay-to-Meet’ Scheme for Imran Khan to Address Power Crisis”

ISLAMABAD: NA Member Proposes ‘Pay-to-Meet’ Scheme for Imran Khan to Address Power Crisis”, In a recent session of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Energy (Power Division), Member of Assembly Muhammad Iqbal Afridi from FATA made a bold proposal to address the region’s electricity woes.

Chaired by Muhammad Idris, the committee meeting included Federal Energy Minister Sardar Owais Leghari and focused on the persistent electricity shortages in FATA.

Afridi passionately questioned why many areas in FATA endure daily electricity cuts, emphasizing the need for immediate action. He criticized the historical neglect of FATA’s infrastructure, noting that significant funds allocated for free electricity remain unspent.

In a surprising turn, Afridi proposed a novel solution: “Charge 10,000 rupees for meetings with Imran Khan,” he stated. “This initiative will generate funds to alleviate our electricity issues without delay.”
His remarks sparked reactions from fellow committee members, including Rana Muhammad Hayat of the Muslim League (N), who commented on the unconventional proposal.
