Murtaza Wahab takes oath as mayor Karachi

Karachi_Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Murtaza Wahab Siddiqui was sworn in as the mayor of Karachi on Monday.

The oath-taking ceremony was administered by Election Commissioner Sindh Ejaz Anwar Chauhan.

The event was attended by Sindh government officials and foreign dignitaries

PPP leader Salman Abdullah Murad also took oath as deputy mayor. On this occasion, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari attended the ceremony.

On Thursday, the PPP won six seats in the mayoral elections in Sindh.

In Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), Murtaza Wahab, Kashif Shoro from Hyderabad, Arsalan Sheikh from Sukkur, and Abdul Rauf in Mirpur Khas had been elected as mayors.

Rasheed Bhatti was elected mayor in Shaheed Benazirabad and Anwar Ali Lohar from Larkana.
