Heavy Eid tourism in Murree overshadowed by fatal road accident

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – A massive influx of tourists was recorded in Murree during the Eid holidays, with over 74,000 vehicles entering the city and nearly 400,000 visitors arriving to enjoy the weather and scenic views. The report was presented to Murree DPO Dr. Syed Tanveer, highlighting the overwhelming rush during the three-day festive period.

However, the celebrations were marred by a tragic accident on the Islamabad-Murree Expressway near Bhostal Mor. A tourist vehicle met with a severe crash, resulting in the death of the driver, while five other passengers were seriously injured.

Rescue teams responded promptly, shifting the injured to nearby medical facilities. Authorities have urged travelers to remain cautious while driving in hilly areas, particularly during peak tourist seasons when traffic volume significantly increases.

Officials emphasized the importance of safe driving practices to prevent such unfortunate incidents amid the ongoing tourist surge.
