MQM,PML resolve to focus on judicial reforms
Electoral alliances with political parties will happen for country’s prosperity: Rafique
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) expressed resolve on Sunday to focus on the judicial reforms.
Addressing a press conference flanked by MQM-P Convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui in Karachi, Rafique stressed the need for electoral adjustment in a bid to take the country out of economic and political crises.
The former federal minister said: “The alliance between the PML-N and MQM-P will turn out to be fruitful for the country. The seat adjustment is necessary ahead of the elections”.
Rafique maintained, “No talks had been held between us [PML-N, MQM-P] in terms of the seat adjustment”.
The PML-N leader stated, “The manifesto of the electoral alliance will also focus on the system of justice, judicial reforms, and bureaucratic reforms. We don’t accept the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) law”.
Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui urged the need to uphold the country’s constitution.
We have to accept that the country is facing a myriad of issues. He opposed the political vendetta.
Underscoring the importance of putting up efforts to strengthen the democracy, Siddiqui said: “There is a need to uphold such a form of democracy that will reap the benefits for the people in general”.
“We [MQM-P, PML-N] are going to enter the partnership that will lead the country towards prosperity,” Siddiqui maintained.
PML-N senior leader Khawaja Saad Rafique said on Sunday that the electoral alliances with the other political parties will happen for the country’s prosperity.
Addressing a press conference flanked by Ayaz Sadiq in Karachi, Rafique said: “We would like to express our gratitude to the parties who are of the view that Nawaz Sharif will become the next premier. We do not have a clue whether we will get the two-third majority or not.
“Right now, our focus is to go for the electoral alliance and partnership,’’ Rafique said.
He took a swipe at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), saying, “The PTI has harmed the country’s political landscape’’.
“We want to see an improvement in the country’s situation following the general elections”.
The PML-N leader said, “There is a lot of clarity in coming to Karachi. We are headed here following the instructions of our [PML-N’s] leadership to hold talks with the political leadership based in Sindh.”
Rafique bemoaned that Karachi and other cities were not given priorities for many decades.
“The PML-N does not believe in subtracting anybody from politics,’’ Rafique said.
He made it clear that PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif will touchdown Quetta on November 14 and will hold meetings with the leaders showing interest in joining the PML-N.
