Authorities Brace for Potential Flooding as Fresh Monsoon Rains Hit Punjab, Balochistan
Punjab:The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) in Punjab has announced that a new wave of monsoon rains is set to commence on the evening of August 14 and will likely continue through August 18. According to a PDMA spokesperson, these rains are expected to impact several areas across Punjab, including Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Multan, and Dera Ghazi Khan.
Wind and thunderstorms are also anticipated in the southern regions of Punjab during this period. The spokesperson further noted that rainfall is expected in the Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, and Gujrat divisions.
Balochistan:In Balochistan, the Meteorological Department has predicted that a new round of rains will begin on August 15 and persist until August 18. The forecast suggests a high probability of heavy rainfall in several districts, including Khuzdar, Qalat, Sorab, Awaran, Mastung, Naseerabad, and Jafarabad.
Additionally, rain is expected in areas such as Sohbatpur, Jhal Magsi, Kachhi, Sibbi, Panjgur, Kohlu, Musakhel, Barkhan, Loralai, Harnai, Zhob, as well as the coastal regions like Ziarat, Shirani, and Makran.

The PDMA Balochistan has issued a warning about the possible risk of river flooding due to the heavy rains. Residents are urged to limit non-essential travel during this time and remain alert for any updates or emergency directives.
