Yousuf to Join Pakistan Team for New Zealand Tour After Daughter's Recovery

LAHORE: Newly-appointed batting coach Mohammad Yousuf has decided to travel with the Pakistan national cricket team for their upcoming tour of New Zealand after his daughter showed signs of recovery.

Yousuf had previously announced his decision to withdraw from the tour due to his daughter’s illness. However, following positive updates from doctors about her recovery, the former batting legend confirmed that he would be rejoining the team.

In a statement, Yousuf expressed, “The doctors have said that my daughter is recovering, so that is why I have decided to travel with the team for the New Zealand tour.”

He added, “Traveling with the Pakistan cricket team is a national duty, so that is why I have taken the decision to join the team for the tour.”

Earlier, it was reported that Yousuf had informed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) of his initial withdrawal, but with his family situation improving, no replacement will be made in his absence for the tour.
