Mohammad Rizwan Poised to Be Appointed Pakistan’s White-Ball Captain
Wicketkeeper-batter reaches agreement with PCB after initial hesitations.
Pakistan wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Rizwan is expected to be named the captain of the national white-ball cricket team.
Sources reveal that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Rizwan have reached an agreement regarding the captaincy role. Initially, there were concerns, as Rizwan wanted the authority to finalize the playing XI himself, which the PCB did not accept. When first offered the captaincy of the national team, Rizwan declined the position.
As a result, the PCB considered appointing Salman Ali Agha as the team’s captain. However, with the new selection committee in place, Rizwan has now agreed to lead the national cricket team.
It is anticipated that the announcement regarding the white-ball captain and squad will be made within the next two days.
