Mishi Khan Criticizes Ayesha Omar’s Lazawal Ishq
Mishi’s viewers rushed to the comments, showing support for her stance.
ISLAMABAD: Mishi Khan lashed out on Ayesha Omar for hosting a ‘dating show’ inspired by a Turkish reality show.
She said that the show Lazawal Ishq is being brought to Pakistan, as Pakistanis only follow the cheap things from the West. Sarcastically, she said that Ayesha Omar will be hosting this show and “who else could have done it better than her?”
According to Misha, Ayesha was proud that she was chosen as the host from amongst several contestants because she is Urdu-speaking. Bashing Omar, Mishi said that “You guys should be ashamed of yourselves.”
She continued saying that Ayesha is her friend and she admires her for the ‘peanuts’ of good work she has done, but she should be ashamed of herself. Such stunts to stay relevant does not seem to be suitable for her age.
Standing by her statement, she said that the ‘desi liberals’ will call her out for such orthodox thoughts but your mind is what makes you modern, not dressing inappropriately.

Following the backlash the show has faced even before being aired, the Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA), in an official statement said, “The program will not be aired on any licensed television channel and is not permitted under PEMRA regulations.”
The authority further emphasized that only programs approved and licensed by PEMRA are broadcast through officially authorized television channels.
