‘MilKar’ Pakistan Wins Youth Excellence Award at CAYA Summit 2025

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s largest volunteer network, ‘MilKar,’ has won the prestigious Youth Excellence Award at the Commonwealth Asia Youth Alliance (CAYA) Summit 2025, held in Islamabad. The award was presented by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to Ali Saif, the youngest member of the National Youth Council (NYC) and the founder of MilKar’s climate initiative, Climate Dost.

MilKar, a public welfare organization, has been recognized for its efforts in connecting volunteers and organizations to create positive community impact. The network has previously earned multiple national and global accolades, including the Commonwealth Innovation Award and P@SHA’s “Best Community Service” Gold Award.

In his address, Ali Saif, a passionate environmental advocate, emphasized the importance of youth involvement in tackling climate change, noting that 70% of Pakistan’s population is young. He highlighted the achievements of MilKar, including the planting of over 100,000 trees and the distribution of 100,000 masks during the smog crisis.

Saif also revealed MilKar’s future plans to install bird feeders nationwide by 2030 as part of its environmental efforts. He encouraged others to adopt eco-friendly practices, urging collective action for a sustainable future.
