Miftah resigns, PM nominates Dar new Finance Minister

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif nominated Ishaq Dar as the new Finance Minister as Miftah Ismail
resigned from his post in London on Sunday.
Finance Minister Miftah Ismail submitted his resignation to his party, the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz
(PML-N) supremo Mian Nawaz Sharif in London.
He submitted his resignation in an important party meeting held under the chairmanship of Mian Nawaz
Sharif in which PM Shehbaz and other leaders were also present.
In the meeting, the overall political and national situation of the country was discussed in detail and
after a long consultation, Miftah submitted his resignation to his party’s supremo.
Nawaz Sharif and PM Shehbaz appreciated the efforts of Miftah Ismail for carrying out the
responsibilities under the most difficult financial situation in the country.
During the meeting, Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif nominated Senator Ishaq Dar as
the Finance Minister.
